**Q: Can you open up only one side?  I have a really limited amount of space?**
A: Yes! You can open either side one at a time all by themselves OR have them both open at the same time for bigger projects. I usually have mine with both sides down until I need to use it and it only takes up about a 12inch by 37inch space. Then I can pull it out into the middle of the room to spread it out to lay out my fabric for cutting out patterns and I can then walk around it easier that way and have lots of flat surface. I am about 5:6" and this is a great height for me. I am Very happy with this purchase! For the money it is Real sturdy and the little shelves underneath are a nice touch that add structural integrity. I used to have another similar product years ago from JoAnns that was very wobbly. This beats that one hands down!  Hope this helped?
