There are copious videos on youtube and such where you can learn how to make bell-siphon grow beds. However, this unit comes with everything you need. No measuring, drilling, cutting, re-cutting, etc. It just works.The original sounds like a toilet flushing every time the siphon breaks, but the newer model is whisper quiet. As far as I can tell, the only difference is the bell-siphon dome cover, which is sleeker in the new model. I may try to either build one myself or get the dome upgrade from the company.A useful tip is to use a brick or something to hold down the media guard for a while until the media gets waterlogged. Without doing that, you risk the media guard floating up with the media and letting some of the media escape down the siphon.I'm not sure how this could be any better, except that it could be a good bit cheaper. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Nicely Made *by M***L on Reviewed in the United States on May 18, 2013* This is a very well-built unit.
