In HEAT mode, it heats fast, I can boil a full pot of water for soup in just in seconds or preheat a skillet for stir-frying almost instantly. The response time is immediate, you turn it up, and it gets hot right away. Also, the heating area is wide and truly uses its full 8-inch coil, as advertised, giving me even heat across my big pans. I also like that it gets up to temperature stays precise, I’ve used it to sear salmon, cook eggs, and simmer sauces, and every time, the heat stays perfectly consistent, all while running surprisingly quiet, just a soft fan sound in the background, nothing distracting. I picked this up as an upgrade to my older portable burner. Its performance has been better than expected, brings 1QT of water to a rolling boil in 5 minutes, super powerful, for everyday cooking tasks. I love the simple control layout, really practical, buttons are easy to use and wipe clean. Temperature control is accurate, excellent, especially when setting low power level, like simmering. It also runs quieter than my previous unit. Customer service has been responsive and helpful as well. Overall, very solid upgrade, highly recommended!!
