The light only comes on after you set it to start. That in itself was very annoying. So in retrospect I would not have bought this microwave at all. I replaced it with a RCA microwave that has a digital flat screen buttons. Believe me very easily to maneuver that this microwave know thingy. **Q: What are the outside dimensions? Is it really 17 1/2 deep?** A: I'm going to need confirmation of the depth from the seller before I buy it. 17+ seems wrong.
