Plus the clip would get stuck on items in my purse. This case is slim, quick to open, and has a great hole for a lanyard which is nice for hiking or having quick access to the phone hanging around my neck when I want to take a quick picture on trips. The magnetic clip hold the case closed and stays out of the way when opened by bending it backward. There are slots for my cleaning cloth and others if you want to carry money and credit card in the phone. The stand works ok. It slides sometimes, but once it is situated it stays in place. I also think it is very attractive in the black and brown version. I can have a case and keep my phone slim. As far as safety, I have dropped my phone at lease five times and nothing has happened to it. There is a nice rubber rim around the phone that seems to protect it nicely and the case stays closed. I am very happy with this case. The only problem I had was my bird ate parts of it, so I am buying another, and the corner where the S pen meets is flimsy. I just cut it off where it bent, and never had a problem with the outer material failing. Also, the "note" inside is HILARIOUS "engrish"Protection wise, I've dropped the phone TONS of times. It fits perfectly. It folds over, providing good protection for the screen, and while it might not protect the Note if it is run over by a truck, it will probably provide good protection for 95% of the drops. Some might find that the case makes it too bulky, but even with the case, it fits into a shirt pocket. The cutouts are all in the right places. It's NOT leather but it therefore is a little smoother for taking in and out of pockets, but it still improves the grip.I was skeptical of a folio style but then discovered that it folds back, making holding the phone in the normal position no problem. The magnets not only hold it closed well, they also hold it open (folded back) well. Yeah, there are spaces for some money or business cards, credit cards or a driver's license or whatever, but you'll probably still carry a wallet (maybe just use this for business cards.) Of course, nothing works best for everyone. The only downside that some folks might find is that it is a folio in the first place and they would rather not have one. But for the price? Seriously, if you are considering a fold over case, this is a remarkable deal. And if you don't like it, you can probably trade it with someone for a sandwich or something and not come out with much of a loss.P.S.
