I have used it near and in the pool. It has sustained many drops on he ground as well. My only issue with this case is that the front screen scratches up pretty easily. It makes the phone screen look dirty/dingy. Otherwise, I would recommend this for water protection and durability. Past issues with cases have been that they pop off when dropped or come loose. The top is a protective glass so you don't need to purchase separately. Nice. I already accidently tested the waterproof claim as it dropped off the counter into the dogs bowl of water. Other than I'm having a bit of trouble hearing people if not on speaker, I expect that will clear up. It has a string to hold so it helps for when I want to hold it, but at the same time no.
