The SoHoMiLL® Electronic Keypad Door Knob SHL-1320-880 is a modern, spring latch lock designed for easy DIY installation without professional help. Featuring a 3-second auto-lock for enhanced security, it supports up to 8 user codes plus a master code, making it ideal for homes, offices, and rental properties. The lock includes a backup mechanical key and battery low warning, fits standard door knob holes on both left and right hinged doors, and boasts a sleek satin nickel finish. Note: This is not a deadbolt and requires manual turning after code entry.

## Description

⚠⚠⚠ WARNING ❗❗❗ This is NOT an automatic dead-bolt lock ! After pressing a valid code, you have ONLY 3-sec (indicated by a 3-sec long beep) to TURN the keypad knob to unlock! If you don’t turn the keypad knob within this 3-sec, the lock will be back to the “lock position.” This is a security feature "auto-lock" designed to prevent “forgetting to lock.” This is a spring latch lock. The latch does NOT have motor and does NOT move itself. Therefore, it lasts longer than dead-bolt. Again, you will need to TURN the keypad knob to unlock. Install this door knob yourself! Everything included: you just need a screwdriver, no professionals needed (saving on contractor costs)! Don't worry about losing, forgetting, or making extra keys time and time again. Fits in standard door knob installation hole. You're free to add, change, or delete user Codes. This lock works for exterior, interior, side, or garage entry doors. **Q: can I disable the auto lock feature?**
A: "can I disable the auto lock feature?" - short answer is "NO!" This is a designed security feature to prevent "forget-to-lock." The knob will be back to "lock" position automatically after 3-second of a valid code entry. For frequent open-close-door, you may either use "latch stopper" included in the package, or set P-mode "Passage" with 1-touch unlock without the need of access code. This is NOT a dead-bolt: when you press a valid code, you need to TURN the keypad knob to unlock within 3-sec while beeping! This is also a security feature "auto-lock" to prevent from "forgot-to-lock." This is a spring latch lock. The latch does NOT have motor and does NOT move itself. Therefore, it lasts longer than deadbolt. Again, You will need to TURN the keypad knob to unlock.

**Q: What if you are using this on an inside door and the door shuts behind you. Will you be locked in?**
A: If you install it so that the keypad is facing inside of a room, then yes, the door shutting behind you would require you to input a code to turn the handle and get out of that room. The other side (no keypad) turns and can open the door at any time (without inputting a code). Installing it facing into a room seems unlikely. Most likely, you would be installing it with the keypad facing out of the room; in which case, you would not be locked in if the door shuts while you are inside the room.

**Q: Can you mute the beeping?**
A: Q: How can I turn off the beep sound?
​A:  The lock does not have a switch to turn off the beep sound. Some customers told us that to lower the volume they used sticky tapes to cover the holes on the lock or even use silicon glue to seal them off. But we definitely do NOT recommend this as the beeps are designed to not only provide a security alert for every access attempt, but also function as low battery level warning when the batteries inside are about to run out.
