The inverter comes with some mounting bolts for putting it on the wall, and connecting the panels to it is really easy. You can have two different strings of panels at different voltages without issue, which is what I'm doing. That way, if you've got some old panels and want to add new ones later on, you can do so without having to match the panels to the old ones. Output is clipped down to 800W, so you can add more panels if you want to get a higher average output. I'm aiming for 1150W of panels, to get the most out of it. Something to note - the new UK plug in solar legislation says the plug must be a moulded-on OEM one, and the cable supplied has bare conductors for a plug or hard-wired installation. As others have mentioned, the app is good, but the connection is lost when the inverter isn't making power. It can't sip from the grid to maintain the connection when the panels aren't generating power. At the time of review, the inverter is £122, which I found to be excellent value for the quality of the kit. The fact that you can change the connection cable and hook it up to an ECOFLOW battery unit is even better, as it adds to the functionality. Be aware that the cable comes as a separate package. Mine arrived a few hours before the inverter itself, which did worry me. The inverter in one, and the mains connection cable in another. It did not come with any cables to connect solar panels, contrary to what some YouTube videos imply. So I purchased them separately. The app is nice but only works when solar is supplying it with power, as it drops network connection. Still very pleased with it though. ### ⭐ Such a shame it overheats, otherwise very good *by N***D on 28 May 2026* The design looks sleek and contemporary. And it works straight out of the box. The App that goes with it works really well and I will miss that as I've returned the unit due to overheating and it throttling back to 50% for several hours whilst it cools to a reasonable temperature. I can understand overheating in the tropics, but in an outbuilding in the UK at 20c you'd think it would work okay with a decent air gap around it. I've seen folk on the web rig up fans to cool them and thought 'yeah right', but actually they were simply overcoming this very issue. Since replaced it with a spare Growatt string inverter I had which has worked flawlessly in the same conditions. But then that has a much bigger heat sink which I think is the issue here. To keep the cost down I think they have compromised too far on the passive cooling aspect.
