You have to pull hard on the stem and then there is no "feel" as the hands turn. The "feel" when setting this watch is different than all my previous experience with wind-up pocket watches, when people used them as their only time piece. The other thing missing is instructions for how to change the battery. I assume that one just uses a tool like a screwdriver to pry off the back. I'd like to know the right way to do it.This watch is for a gift, and I would not hesitate to buy another one. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good watch. Packaging/Shipping experience could use some work.... *by R***N on September 19, 2016* First let me say I am very happy with my purchase however I am going to give this one a 4 star mainly for the same reasons people have posted above.Pro(s):- Watch is amazing looking.- Nice feel in your hand.- Keeps good time so far and I love the fact it ticks just audibly enough to hear when you hold it to look at it.Con(s):- As others have stated time and again there are no instructions what so ever. Luckily the seller or someone set the time initially on the watch to my timezone and almost to the second with what my atomic synced cell phone shows. (granted this could be pure coincidence but..)- I only ordered one watch but as others have noted the watch box came in a larger Amazon shipping box and unlike any other amazon package I have ever received there was NO packing material whatsoever. None, Zip, Nill, Nada. There is foam in the smaller watch box but in my case the watch box was crushed on one side (even tho there were no other things in the amazon box) The item was unharmed as far as i can see but the internals must have taken quite a beating. Might be why some peoples stop working after a few weeks.Overall not a bad watch and I am happy with my purchase thus far. I love the feel of it in my hand, not too light not heavy. It feels solid and sturdy. I purchased this as a Christmas gift for my 15 year old son who loves pocket watches with chains. He likes to wear them because they make him feel well dressed and sophisticated. I know he'll love this with the steampunk design, black metal, and Roman numerals.The seller was really great too. I had received my order without a chain and reached out to the seller who quickly rectified the situation. So now my son has a watch and chain.
