The dimensions of the cover are 12″ wide, 11.5″ tall, and 3″ deep. The extra width keeps any tabs that you have protected from damage. These binders are great for geneology papers. What I like is how soft and elegant they feel and are a perfect size, being 3 inches thick and can hold hundreds of papers.  The 3 metal rings that holds the papers are strong and fit together tightly meaning they shouldn't loosen as time goes by.  They work best if you put your papers in plastic sleeves.  Finally I  love how the front says Family History.

I love the width of the cover and back.  It is wide enough so when you use sheet protectors with tabs on them they do not extend past the cover.  This binder also has a classic look and is well made.
