I like the open design. As you can see, I cut a slot in the end, so as to use the leash to attach to the end of the remote, which is more solid than using the holes in the side of the silicone cover. Also as you can see, the holes for the volume and mute did not line up perfectly, but it turns out that does really matter. I can use the controls through the slot, or just press on the silicone up higher. Both work.One comment is that the yellow is not really as shown in the picture. It's more of a pale green. Not terribly attractive, but it will do.One thing to note is that these have a great texture on the outside. I got a similar sort of silicone cover for another remote, and it does not feel nearly as good as this one.
