Not too big and not too small. The purple bags color is just a little bit lighter in person than the picture shows but it’s still worth it.Tip: Use lemon juice mixed with a little bit of water and soak a washcloth with it to clean the inside of the bag if your bag has an odor inside. Looks just like the pictures posted here. The dimensions are accurate. I like how it’s roomy and has lots of compartments. I bough it for an overseas trip, but I wanted to spend time figuring out the best ways to keep things in it. The pockets are really deep, I can fit my tablet plus several other things in the back compartment. The faux leather is REALLY soft. I saw other reviews mentioning some sort of bad smell - - I have not experienced that at all. Also I saw people saying that the zippers broke - - I did have a moment with one of the zippers separating, but I got that back together. (You have to be GENTLE with zippers, not in a hurry.) The side pockets are small, not super convenient for a 20 oz water bottle, but a smaller one fits great. I like keeping my sunglasses in one of those, because the design helps the glasses stay put.
