## Description

You will receive a healthy venus flytrap, care instructions, soil and a pot. Venus flytraps have been given a bad reputation as being difficult to grow. This is because the ones found at hardware stores or super markets are often force grown with hormones in a test tube, planted in an inappropriate soil and left on a shelf or in transit for weeks at a time without light or water. However, with just a few precautions, venus flytraps can live outside or in a sunny windowsill in almost every climate zone in the United States. They also make a great conversation piece for a small terrarium with artificial lighting. Due to the live nature of this product, we cannot accept returns. However, we guarantee live arrival of a healthy plant with every order. If you have any issues upon arrival, please send us a photo and we will make sure you receive a healthy plant.

Review: Cuties I love them - Little thing cute after one day they woke up I keep it in my window with a happy if light cut a juice bottle in half flipped it upside down inside itself with the cap on poked holes in the cap and put water in the bottom half so it could take water from the bottom as needed and keep the whole soil equally moist, also sprinkled a lil coffee on the soil for a lil wakey wakey boost, Venus fly trap heads only open 4-5 times before dieing whether they catch something or not so I’m gonna have to practice feeding them so I don’t try to and hurt them accidentally. Also learned they live like 20 years as perennials (come back every year) very cute little guys I’ll take care of them
Review: terrible and overpriced - The plant arrives nearly dead. The instructions are intentionally misleading and they are unwilling to allow a refund. The plant cannot be watered with tap water and the pods only open and close three times (maximum of 6 if you are lucky) and then the pod dies. During shipping the pods all die and you have to hope something grows if it can survive acclimation which is nearly impossible without expensive equipment and constant care.. Then they all die anyway in dormancy for up to 4 months. This product is the worst experience I have ever had with desertcart. Luckily desertcart intervened and issued me a refund.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: How. Big does it grow**
A: Venus flytraps can have leaf spans of over 8 inches and traps can be 2" or more in size. Older plants tend to forms clumps so you can have large pots with multiple growth points over time.

**Q: Hi I'm thinking of buying a venus fly trap and I wanted to know if I can plant it in a bigger pot, instead of the one it comes with?**
A: Yes just make sure you use the right kind of soil/filler material

**Q: How do I water these traps?**
A: Use ro water or rain water, tap water has to many minerals and kills the plant

**Q: Dormancy phase?**
A: Venus flytraps generally go dormant from late fall until early spring. During this period growth slows and the traps are more sluggish. Flytraps can be force grown through one dormancy period by using artificial lighting (the flytraps we sell here are in active growth under lights). However, any more than 1 missed dormancy year may stress the plant out to death.

### ⭐ terrible and overpriced
*by C***C on April 26, 2019*

The plant arrives nearly dead. This product is the worst experience I have ever had with Amazon. Luckily Amazon intervened and issued me a refund.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good looking flytraps
*by S***R on December 14, 2018*

Bought two of these plants in December. The package contained the plants, long-fiber sphagnum (LFS) and a pot for each plant, 2.5” square and 3.5” high. There was also a care sheet which included links to videos showing how to pot the plants. Each plant arrived in a cylindrical peat moss cell plug, which has to be carefully teased out before planting in the provided LFS. All of this was easy and quick. Attached are some pics, before and after potting. The plants are red, beautiful and healthy, and appear to be transitioning into dormancy since this is in the middle of December. The rhizomes are medium sized and roots are looking good. I only wish they wouldn’t label this as “large” or “mature,” since this is really a medium sized rhizome. But you can’t go wrong with this purchase, the plants look great and seem to be hardened for outdooor or patio growing.
