My first observation is that there should be something to help keep the shape when you hang them. The weight of the soil makes the bags collapse at the handles. I added some pieces of wood to help keep them separated. No loose threads on Number #1 of Two similar cloth planters. No concern with the depth of the first from the bottom series of Three (3) sewn holes. Shd be adequate to establish a firm botton of One-to-two-inches of Coco coir to absorb water fill from above. Will need a drip tray below the hanging cloth planter indoors. Suggest adding Coco coir only, then pop the strawberry plants out thru the holes from within being careful to expose only the crown of each plant to the outside air leaving the root system covered w Coco coir. Continue to add strawberry plants to the cloth planter from bottom to top, covering each higher row of plants w Coco coir. The One-inch diameter holes look snug enough to keep the strawberry plants in their base without spilling Coco coir on the floor. Lost 2 plants near the bottom because water didn't reach them. Because they get so heavy I put them in big plant saucers. That helps with moisture wicking into the bottom. The plants are thriving......look better than when they were in the ground. Producing a handful of berries every other day. Not enough for jam but great for yogurt or cereal. We kept one bag unplanted.
