FYI, I need it for use with a 10"x12" recovery tank to give an idea of volume.** A: RG3000 is single cylinder, RG6000 is twin cylinder. Just means RG6000 will get it done faster because it is a heavier, more powerful unit than it's little brother the RG3000. Either one will fill any 15 or 30 lb recovery cylinder quick enough.Take note of the features, too. RG6000 has a purge feature to clear the unit of refrigerant. A must if your using it for multiple refrigerant types. **Q: Ok I know this was not made for it but I am not seeing why one could not do this. Would any one see ware comprising of bio mass or methane with this u** A: These units require oil to keep the gasket lubricated as well as the piston in the pump. Refrigation gas have this oil methane probably doesn't. Also these units accept up to a 3% loss of gas thru use of unit. This unit was not designed to handle flammable gases the circuitry is not explosion proof **Q: can i use this machine to recover, evacuate, and recharge?** A: No...at least that is not how I do it. I use this machine to recover the liquid and vapor refrigerant from a system and transfer the refrigerant to a holding/recovery cylinder. A vacuum pump is the proper tool to pull a system into a deep vacuum to ensure all moisture, etc is evacuated before recharging. The vacuum produced by the vacuum pump will pull refrigerant in from a holding cylinder, but only to a certain pressure. The compressor's low side will inhale the remaining necessary charge based on your superheat or subcool readings. This description is for air conditioning/HVAC. Automobiles use a contained evacuation/charging system all in one machine.This machine comes with no hoses. Hoses have to be bought for the refrigerant class you are working on. I outfit all my refrigerant gauge manifolds with R410 hoses. Highest pressure I ever work with, so I know my spare hoses are safe for the pressure. You can by a filter to screw onto the intake side to help purify the refrigerant as you recover it. This is a great machine. It will recover a residential 5 ton system down so fast you won't have time to go to lunch. The purge feature is a must if you are working with different types of refrigerants.
