How smooth is the flow of action on the screen?** A: It is a beautiful screen. I have been in contact with Vizio. It seems the problem is not in the set. It is with the Sevice providers and they are working on a solution with internet providers and the streaming companies. Your local station sports viewing is beautifully displayed **Q: Have you had screen failure? I had TV fail with "Black Screen" after 4 weeks. I've heard of several of these problems but Vizio says this is rare.** A: I have repaired a number of these now all with the "black blank backlite screen" by spending $8 -$15 on a new tcon board and cleaning the tcon ribbons before replacing... (its a 20 minute repair with a phillips screwdriver and no skills needed). on the larger 70" vizios a defect in the bonding tabs causes a similiar failure and its harder to repair. so far I havent needed to remove the bonding tabs on the 60" models but its definatly a manufacturing weakness for sure badcaps .com has a number of repair threads on these issues also shared by the sharp models that use the same parts besides the mainboard. **Q: controller** A: controller **Q: Is a firmware update available? the amazon video i'face is terrible, esp when compared to that on my newer vizios, eg no watchlst or channels.** A: Wish there was a newer updated App for Amazon video but they seem to have moved on the newer models for updates.. Started with a 42" lcd vizio, bumped up to a 50" panasonic plasma, now this 60" monster. I really like it, especially for $999...walmart does have this on black friday for $688 in store.. So if you're one of those people, jump on it!PICTUREComing from plasma I knew the picture wouldn't be quite as good, and after playing with picture settings I gotta be honest there isn't much of a drop off in picture quality. Also coming from plasma I like my picture on the darker side, I feel it gives more "depth" and the best part is I don't have any bleeding when it comes to the Edge-lit factor. Will the picture blow you away? If this is your first HDTV absolutely, but otherwise you're not going to see a huge difference from the HDTV's from the past couple of years. The 120hz processor is all you'll ever need, at least when it comes to cable..we have "charter" and they only support 60hz. And as far as blu-rays or xbox and ps3..120hz will prove to be enough so there is no lag. NHL 13 and Battlefield 3 are pretty damn fun on this 60 incher.SOUNDWhat can I say, it works, it's not anything special, it certainly can get loud enough but in the end they are just tv speakers. And if you are that concerned about the sound that it influences your purchasing decision, you should go out and at least get a "home theater in a box." Personally, sound is as important as picture, I have a 7.2 system (7 satellite speakers, 2 subwoofers) running off of my Onkyo NR609 receiver, total set up cost me just under 1K. I need to feel the mortars and artillery from "Band of Brothers", "The Pacific", "The Thin Red Line"...etc. So like I said, go spend a couple hundred dollars on a 5.1 system, or for God sakes at least get a $80 sound bar.REMOTEFeels very well made to me, heavy, and the qwerty keyboard is very innovative and at times can be quite handy. To be honest tho I don't use tv remotes often, my Onkyo remote controls my cable box, tv, blu-ray player, and of course the Onkyo receiver. So I'm set.APPS/WI-FISo far just used Netflix, haven't tried my Amazon prime account yet but in all honesty, it is what it is and if one works there's no reason the rest won't. Wi-fi was easy to set-up..so even if you're just a little tech savvy there's no reason it won't be easy for you.Let's see, what else?? No dead pixels, special delivery was good, they came in put it in my room, unpackaged it, assembled the stand and hoisted it on my TV center. They will take the packaging if you want but I think it's a good idea to just throw it in the basement as you may never know when you'll need it. Personally it's nice to have because I tend to sell mine every fall, although the only thing missing from this tv is 3D and I know I would just about never use it, so I'll be good with this tv for longer than usual.IMPORTANT! If before delivery the tv was in a cold vehicle like mine was(I'm a "Yooper")...make sure you give it plenty of time to warm up (I waited 4 hours)..otherwise your tv experience will be over before it could start!Here's my picture settings, and it's perfect as far as I'm concerned. And don't hesitate to buy...great TV, and not just because of the low price..that's just a bonus! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great TV, Great deal, Ignore the haters. *by D***6 on March 9, 2013* I was skeptical about getting this TV after reading some of the negative reviews, but I finally bought it and I'm glad I did. Shipping was free quick and easy, was delivered right into my apartment with no problems. Waited 4 hours before turning it on due to the temperature adjustment then began setting it up. Before this I had a 42 inch Dynex and when I set up this new TV I was blown away at how much bigger it is, the difference between 42" and 60" really is bigger then you'd think. Make sure you can be at least 6 feet away from the TV when watching, or else you'll feel like you're in the first row at the movie theater. The picture is great, incredibly clear and sharp when watching blu rays or even playing 720p games. Sadly when watching HD cable it doesn't look as good (though not bad) but that is because HD tv is in 1080i and not 1080p like a blu ray is. A number of people have complained that the speakers in the TV suck or are no good, but I actually find them to be just fine, and since the TV is so big, the two built in speakers are pretty spread out so you get a full sound (though I do recommend buying or using additional surround sound speakers for the added benefit of a sub and more power).I didn't set up or use any of the internet apps because come on, that's not why I bought the TV and I have a laptop, phone and PS3 to do all that on. The remote is good enough, and the interface to use while messing with all the settings on the TV is real easy. The only complaint I can think of about the TV is when you have the backlighting on (which you don't need on if you turn off the ambient light sensor) and the screen is totally black, you can see some kind of uneven lighting at the edges of the screen. This bothered/freaked me out at first because I saw other people complaining about this issue, but as I said before, just turn off the backlighting and it goes away, and even if you don't turn off the backlighting, as soon as something comes on the screen that isn't completely all black, it's gone.The smooth motion (120hz) looks awesome once you get used to it, but some people just don't like it so luckily you can turn it off easily in the picture menu.
