I'm not sure why it would say 12 pack. Sorry. **Q: has anyone used these rollers to perm long hair?** A: I have long hair. I used these rollers for styling only after each shampoo. My hair comes out in nice curls. I don't perm my hair any more for many years as I didn't want to damage my hair. **Q: can these curlers be used for home perms?** A: These rollers are very soft and may not be suitable for tight wrapping or chemicals. This is just my opinion; I am not a hair stylist. I have never tried rollers before so I can't compare this to anything else, but I found these incredibly easy to use. I put them in when my hair was damp after a shower and left them in for a few hours to air dry. The snap-on clips held them in place perfectly. When I took them out, I had the most gorgeous, voluminous retro curls and my hair felt SO incredibly soft. I'll definitely be reaching for these instead of my curling wand from now on! Also my hair is about armpit length and I bought 3 packs but honestly could've used a 4th because I was a few rollers short and had to make do.
