## Description

Dragon Fruit cuttings to grow your own dragon fruits. Total of 6 cuttings will be included, 3 cuttings will produce red flesh dragon fruits once fruiting and 3 cuttings will produce purple flesh dragon fruit once fruiting. These are mature cuttings and not the whole rooted plant with soil.

Review: I received 6 large cuttings as described and they all grew very well - I received 3 red and 3 purple dragonfruit cuttings as described. I stuck each cutting by itself in small individual pots, left them inside under a timed UV light, and watered very sparingly (maybe once every 7-10 days). Within a month I could tell all 6 had taken root. I then built two homemade trellis with square tops out of some scrap wood and stuck them in large pots, and planted the dragonfruit cacti tightly around the center of pole of the trellis (one pot for the purple DF, the other for red DF), and then placed the pots in a shady area of the porch to avoid sunburn shock from their newfound home in the bright Texas sun. In no time I was going out every few days to readjust plant tape and guide multiple little snaking cacti towards the crown of the trellis. After two weeks in the shade adjusting to the Texas summer, I moved them to a sunnier spot with my other potted plants and they loved it. For whatever reason, my reds grew very well and are well over 6 feet long in some places, growing fat on top of their trellis crown and reaching out another foot out past it. The purple has been slow and steady and only now is reaching the crown, but is healthy. No blooms yet, but that's to be expected as it's only been 6 months! Frankly I couldn't be more pleased with these plants. Some quick tips/observations: -the biggest threats will be over-watering and cold temperatures, as with all cacti. We had a surprise cold front last week after a week of slow rain, and I had to move the DF back inside to undergo treatment for root rot and fungi. At least I caught it early so they should be fine. I may need to re-pot them with a soil mixture that drains better. -in an attempt to make it easier to move inside/outside, I made a miniaturized version of the homemade trellis that is often found online. Instead of large 4x4 or 2x4 boards, I used little 2x2's and wooden posts that I had leftover from making chicken roosts. But now that the plants are growing so well, I realize the trellis I made is way too small and janky, and I am going to have to come up with a new solution next year if I want to keep the cacti growing and healthy.
Review: Healthy cuttings growing strong and healthy - Happy with the cuttings. All cuttings are growing strong and healthy.

**Q: are these self pollinating**
A: Yes they are self pollinating

A: "Red" and Purple" were written on the cuttings, but after 2 years my plants have not produced any fruit at all.

**Q: Can this plants grow in New York**
A: we live in south Florida it grows great, but as for growing in NY... probably not. It is a desert plant for outside. My daughter lives in Nashville and she can't grow it there. too cold and the thing ultimately gets huge.
