Review: The Last Bench I’ll Own! - I bought this during Prime days and then realized after ordering it that it weighs almost 90 lbs, which concerned me since it is approximately twice the weight of my old bench. It was too late to cancel the order. I then pondered whether to return it unopened or keep it. After doing quite a bit of research on benches and also borrowing a lighter weight one from a friend I have concluded that there is typically a big jump in dead weight across most brands between lighter duty benches and heavier duty bench brands ( there are not many in the 60-80 lb range). I also lifted the end of the box to get an idea how this might feel lifting it onto its rollers to maneuver in our home gym. Today I took the plunge and assembled it ( very straightforward btw) and I’m pleasantly surprised that it really isn’t as heavy as I thought. This thing is very well designed with large rollers for moving, close tolerances, ball bearings in the decline ankle roller swing arm, very firm but comfortable pads, and great decline fit ( which was a major need in this versus my old bench). Beautiful minimalistic style without a bunch of nonsense printed on the pad covers and no separate ankle roller attachment taking up space in our gym. Extremely solid and stable, commercial quality.
