I used it to mount a red dot sight and it is plenty long enough to mount a full size scope. Note that my 995 is 45 cal and that bullet has a high rate of drop so its not good for long range shooting which means a full size scope would not be useful and in fact would probably be bad because it would severely limit your field of view. It does not cover the full length of the barrel. I do recommend it because it is made of aluminum, the original is made of plastic and not really sturdy enough for mounting any type of sight. **Q: How long is it?
