For starters, i enjoy makeup but am not a "beauty guru" with my expectations. I prefer a very natural look and would rather not wear makeup. That said, for me make up is a fun way to enhance my features and be creative and expressive. I have medium brown skin with an olive undertone. All the pallets work although there are definitely some shades that won't work for brown/darker skin tones. For example, is you have medium/dark skin, the nude palette is not needed. My favorite is the pink pallete (heart & sol) - it complements my skin tone the best. Runner up is the gold palette (call me sunshine). The lights off palette is probably the brown-skom friendly neutral - and the blue/grey glitter color surprised me with how good it looked. The matte colors are all very pigmented with good color payoff, buildable as well. The glitter shades are smooth, but have notable fall out. These are very good for the price but don't perform to the same level as high end glitter shadows (not a big deal IMO considering the price). I found finger application had the best results, especially for the glitter. Brush works well for matte, but not as strong for glitter. For the price point and performance, you can't go wrong with these! It's not perfect but it's pretty darn good. This was also a great way for me to explore different color/tones on my skin tone and play with different colors. And i feel better about travelling with these vs more expensive palletes - my heart wont hurt as much if these break. And the compact size is a space saver. I recommend these! Because of this, some colors cannot be called eyeshadow but are called pressed pigments instead as they have not been approved for use in the immediate eye area. This is super common these days- with higher end vegan brands as well as drugstore. The reason that these pigments have not been approved for the eye area has to do with their ability to stain the skin and not so much as they are a danger. Wet n wild is my favorite drugstore brand and KVD Vegan Beauty is one of my favorite sephora brands for sure. Both have pressed pigments and they have never stained my eyes nor have they irritated me in any way. Obviously can’t speak for what others are sensitive to, but since I am sensitive to many, many eye products, I feel I can say that they are worth to try for anyone at this price. **Q: Is the 10-pan eyeshadow palette, brown nude awakening, phthalate-free, sulfate-free, & paraben-free? sometimes they are not obvious in the ingredients** A: Hello, thank you for your question! Why would this be in an eyeshadow palette if it can’t be used on eyes?** A: In the USA, some pigments used in powder products are listed as “not safe for eyes” because the fda doesn’t wants to spend the money for testing to approve. Whereas in Europe, where laws for food and cosmetics products are way stricter anyway, they are all approved already. Including neon products that use synthetic dyes. Another reason they’re still not approved here is because some pigments can cause skin staining, but that’s usually only for bright colors.
