Maybe if you iron them out they won't be as bad, but I cut them off but left enough slack to roll them back and sew them to make a seam to make the costume sleeveless. I then wore a red compression shirt under the costume and that looked way better.My other major gripe is that the costume constantly rides up until it hits your chin. This may have happened because it was stiff and not 'broken in'. I had to wear a belt to hold it down.The mask it comes with is a joke, doesn't match the color and doesn't fit or look good. Plan on getting a replacement.The cape is nice and is held on with velcro.
