Overall, it does work as advertised, and it is quite well made. But do you need it? We have a three bin kitchen sink in stainless. This is PERFECT. It fits the middle sink beautifully and stays put. But if you have a regular sink then I don't see the point. It's kind of small as colanders go, and in a regular sink you can just drop in a jumbo round colander and rinse a gallon of berries. Again, it is well made, but the sliding mechanism means cleaning is a bit more of a chore. Food can get caught in between the two halves and it must be flushed out thoroughly when washing. I didn't mind setting it on a stainless sink, but we used to have a porcelain cast iron sink and I wouldn't let this near it. The edges aren't rolled, so there is a risk of scratching. Value? If you can use one it's an OK deal.
