Out of the box, I'm happy. It seems sturdy, and i cannot detect any damage from shipping. Quality is consistent with what i expected for the price range. What did suprise me is that the balance is at most an inch in front of the hilt. I thought it would be more blade heavy, but I'm not unhappy with this surprise. It feels lighter than it actually is, and swings easily.

This knife is everything I expected it to be based on the advertisement on Amazon, EXCEPT: the blade was stained: not fully polished to a nice looking finish as shown in the ad pics. .(see pics). I fixed the problem with some Comet and an abrasive pad. It now looks completely shiny as it does in the Amazon pics.
