A: Yes, you lift the black rim that fits over the top edge of garbage bag & push it back against the lid when open & will lock in place.

**Q: Can I buy just the 13 gallon insert? I bought the trash can dual-liner size but think I’d rather just have one large trash can insert.**
A: Mine came with an insert. 13 gallon trash bags fit perfectly.

A: About 36 inches.

A: The can is 11 1/4" wide by itself, and the pedal adds 2 1/4". Total width is 13 1/2".

Yeah, it’s pricey, but everyone that see’s it can’t believe how much better it is than theirs. Some have already thrown their trash can out. Our still works fantastic and it doesn't bang the wall when you step on pedal. Bags fit and hold well. Plus, it looks great and it a garbage can. Lol
