The old bulb sits at the bottom of a compartment and the length allows you to grip and twist the bulb. It is easily removed. This replacement bulb is considerably shorter than the original. The base is a perfect fit but you can't reach down the hole to guide and twist it into place. With some wriggling I located it into the base but I could not push and twist with my finger. The use of long nosed pliers, combined with the soft surround of the bulb (plastic not glass) allowed me to grip and insert the bulb in seconds. Illumination is great and as the bulb is only sold in pairs, I have a spare ready if needed.In summary, a perfect replacement bulb. Don't panic if it seems too short.
