After my first few uses, things went downhill fast. My recipes always started out well, I would brown the meat and saute the savories, filling the kitchen with lovely smells. But when I went on to seal the pot to pressure cook, it all fall apart. Upon opening the pot after release, the good smells were all gone and replaced by a dank odor. I could not get over the odor, it affected the taste of the food. It took me a few times around of cooking to realize the silicone ring was the culprit. I tried running the IP with vinegar and lemon, soaking the ring in vinegar, soaking the ring in baking soda, running it through the dishwasher, all to no avail. I was poised to get rid of my pot.
