They are straight-sided, solid, and the caps are a good fit. I use them for organizing ingredients in the kitchen, and for this purpose they excel. The labels from my cheapo label maker stick to the glass with no problems.The loss of a star is for two things. First, the packaging is not made for shipping, and yet this is how they ship. Mine arrived with 3 broken jars. Amazon was great about sending me a replacement box, and I didn't even have to send back the good jars, so five-stars for Amazon, as usual. The second issue are the thin plastic liners in the caps. Some are cut just a bit large, so they wrinkle up in the lid a bit. Not a huge issue, and they still work, just a little sloppy.All in all, a good purchase. They arrived in perfect condition, none were broken. The jars are 3.5 inches tall (from bottom to top of lid) and 2 13/16 inches wide (across the top of the lid). About 1 cup of water fits inside and when shaken and turned upside down, there was really minor leakage (a few drops or so of the water). I would not recommend using this as a liquid container if you think the container will be shaken around a lot. Creams, ointments, lotions, bath salts, fizzy bath bombs, and thicker oils (coconut oil) would do fine.Happy with product.
