We went for white because black shows all the water marks. It looks really good and it really compliments our black, grey, silver and white bathroom Decor. The bottom is flat which I wasn't expecting.This meant the tressle was easier to make but it sat a little higher than I had anticipated. Once in place it felt very stiff and solid. The drain trap they provide has a very large rubber seal that causes water to pool at the end all the time, so I would suggest a different trap or changing the seal.
