Rather than loose stuffing it is filled with foam like that forms in a foam mattress which makes it firm. It definitely has a different look to it than a standard pouf so the aesthetics of this pouf are very different and may not be for everyone. But my space is small and my furniture is more modern so it is perfect. I bought this to go with a chair that is uncomfortable to sit in unless your feet are raised so it was never used. The firmness of this pouf is the perfect support and we now use that chair regularly. I also like that it comes in a number of different colors and textures which made it easy to find one that went well with my furniture. Does this pouf scream chic, Instagram worthy luxury?
