The Bose TV Speaker helps you hear your TV better. It’s a small sound bar that clarifies speech and improves overall TV sound. Inside the TV speaker there are two full-range drivers angled to deliver wide, spacious sound and a center tweeter specifically focused on elevating vocals. Built-in Dolby decoding helps further enhance this compact TV speaker’s audio capabilities to deliver a more realistic and satisfying listening experience. Designed with simplicity in mind, this small soundbar only uses a single connection to the TV via an optical audio cable (included) or an HDMI cable (sold separately) and has you up and running in minutes. At just over 2" tall, the Bose TV Speaker is a compact sound bar that can be placed just about anywhere. And small LED lights on the front of this small soundbar turn on and/or change color for visual confirmation when certain features are enabled. They also blink in acknowledgement of volume changes. The Bose TV Speaker has HDMI-CEC, which allows the TV and this small soundbar to communicate when connected with an HDMI cable. Meaning when you turn the TV on, the TV speaker will automatically turn on too. With this technology, you can even keep using your current TV remote to control the volume of this compact soundbar. However, the Bose TV Speaker comes with its own remote. And on it, you can enable “dialogue mode” on the TV speaker to elevate vocals even more or press the “bass” button for some extra depth. Review: Big beautiful Bose sound - This is a truly excellent product that fully lives up to expectations. The sound is big and the complexity of setup is small, although to make it work with my older Sharp Aquos TV, which lacks HDMI ARC, I had to buy a dongle — an HDMI audio extractor that pulls the sound out of the main source HDMI and shunts it to an optical jack that can communicate properly with the Bose device using the supplied optical cable. More modern TVs won’t need that. For those whose TV had great video but the audio sucks, this is the cure. It would be worth it for full price but it was nice to get this one as a Prime Day door-buster sale item. I know the days of Bose products being made in Framingham are long gone but this particular item is built in Thailand, which is an ally or something like one. As an ABC shopper I’ll settle for that.

**Q: does this support 220v?**
A: Thanks for asking. The TV speaker can support 100–240 V, 50/60 Hz.

**Q: I want to use my tv remote to power the bose on and off and control the volume.  will the optical connection do this, or do i have to use hdmi?**
A: I was able to connect the Bose mini sound bar via optical to my Samsung TV and set it up to use my Comcast remote to manage the sound bar (volume and mute). I found the code on the Xfinity website, and followed their instructions to program it AFTER having used settings on my Samsung tv and chose the optical device as my output. I don’t think I can share the Xfinity link here but any search engine will get you to it. I believe 31933 was the 5 digit code that worked for our X-15 remote. Hope this helps!

**Q: Can you use with a sub woofer?**
A: Bose will tell you that you can only use their TV speaker with a Bose 300 or 700 sub woofer While that is largely true, you can use your Smart TV audio output in conjunction with any other sub woofer brand that will accept a digital/optical input. Connect your smart tv to the Bose TV Speaker using the HDMI/ARC input. Then, separately connect the other brand subwoofer with the optical cable directly out of your smart TV. In the tv's settings menu set the optical output to PCM (pulse code modulation) and you will have sub woofer sound. I, personally use a Bestisan Deep Bass Sub Woofer sold by Amazon for approximately $ 79 (cheap, compared to $ 300/- for the Bose) and it works fine. It also allows you to set Woofer volume and bass frequency separately. I am taking the time to write this out in detail because i am against brands with proprietary technology that just want to take your money. Everything should be open systems in today's technology!

**Q: Can i connect it to my phone?**
A: Yes, you an connect your phone to your soundbar via Bluetooth.

Purchased as a donation for a care facility. The sound bar was worth the price. It was easy to install and operate, looks great, and brings all audio ranges to a level that makes it easier to hear and understand the program without distortion.
