First, the unit was boxed well to safely protect it during shipment. When I opened the box and lifted the unit out I found out that it is very light and thin. There are 8 different variations of lighting available. You scroll through them by pressing a button that has both tactile and audible clicks. If you do not want the lights on, that come on every time you turn it on, just press and hold that button for about three seconds and they shut off. If you're into lights, this unit should fit your needs. I wanted to wait for a few weeks of use before writing this review, so I could test out the unit thoroughly, including the issue of the plastic support tab breaking. I have to say it exceeds in all aspects. The tab worked flawlessly, the metal support used to elevate the angle of use, also performed flawlessly with nothing negative of note. I had ordered this and had been using it for about a month before my house burned down. I managed to recover it from the rubble of my home. CANT HEAR THE FANS AT ALL EVEN AT TOP SPEED! The reason I gave only 4 stars is the plastic, I wish the part your laptop sits on was made out of metal. The plastic is strong, durable, and does the job, I guess it's just a personal preference. The price is great too for the quality. Love the RGB lighting. Its also lighter than I expected. So that's awesome. My laptop doesn't slid at all, also love the fact the holding tab is in the middle so my wrists don't hit them.
