Kingsford Charcoal Chimney Starter helps you illuminate charcoal faster, easier, and more evenly. The chimney starter is made with you in mind and features galvanized steel that is durable and rust-resistant. The vented charcoal base and circular vents help you light up your charcoal as quickly as possible while protecting your hands from extreme temperatures. This tool is sure to become one of your favorite BBQ accessories this summer. You will hardly remember how it is baked without it. Usage: Long reach lighter or match, charcoal briquet, heat resistant cooking mitt or gloves. Step 1: Put the charcoal chimney starter on a cool clean grill. Step 2: Fill the space under the vent base in the charcoal chimney starter with crinkled newspaper or a few fire starter rolls. Step 3: Fill the space above the vented base with the bricket. Step 4: Use a long reach lighter or match to ignite the newspaper, and the charcoal chimney starter will light up evenly. The charcoal briquets inside light uniformly. Step 5: Remove the upper grille grate. Grab the charcoal chimney starter handle and pour coal into the grill when the bricket is lightly covered in white ash while wearing heat resistant mitts or gloves. A: Mine holds up to 5lbs of charcoal, looks like 3 to 4 liters worth. Its more than enough for most standard grills. FYI- I love this chimney! Starts fast and easy every time. No starter fluid needed, just a little newspaper, and whoosh! It's magical for under $10.
