So I returned the large and got the XL in regular length. It fits much better. Waist is comfortable and not too loose and it doesn't show my bulges in the tummy / hip area. Yet it doesn't look too big. Material is nice and stretchy. Hopefully, it will retain its nice shape and won't get too stretched out in the waist but in the meantime I am grateful for the extra room. I like the cuffs so I won't have to have my pants touching the floor when I use the plane's gross restroom. That's a bonus.
