Second pair Oct 2016!!! *by A***K on Reviewed in India on 20 February 2015* 2015 >> I bought these strobes more for safety than its aesthetic value I installed these on my bike by connecting them directly with the brake lights. These are very bright and clearly visible irrespective of the time in the day. Do keep in mind the wiring has to be done well to make LED's last and not have them burn out.The reason I gave it 3 stars was that Tufkote products generally give a feel which says built to last however once you look at the strobes it looks and feels like a rip off .The solders to the LED are clearly visible it should have been covered, surprisingly the transparent covering can be easily unscrewed and removed without any effort felt like was unscrewing a bottle :( . The transparent covering on one of the LED was chipped at the edges.The LED is not centered in its unit, the circuit on which the LED is soldered is not glued to the unit raising questions on its durability. After installing the Tufkote LED Eagle Eye Day Time Running Pilot Lamp the strobe was a major let down especially when you look at them physically the difference is for you to see the fit finish of the strobe leaves a lot to be desired don't feel as if they are from the same brand.................................2016 >>Update...Bought another pair on the 12/10/2016.I had bought my first pair in Feb 2015 and they finally stopped working on the 12/10/2016 so they lasted for 18 months. And when I disconnected the box which comes with strobes from the bike and realized that only because of one solder giving away the strobes stopped working. how did the wire get disconnected I really don't know because the box was neatly tucked away. The strobes themselves are absolutely fine other than a little fading of color on the wires which is due to being exposed to the elements there is no change, I feel they are still as bright as they were..The solders gave away and this can be easily rectified by getting it soldered I would have done it myself however the solder is too fine and I was scared in burning the whole unit hence decided to get it soldered from a workshop, and voila what do you know its works fine, no complaints whatsoever..Have installed the new box that came with the new lights and kept the old one as a spare no particular reason for doing that. Just did it.So now coming to the heart of the matter I had initially given it three stars in 2015 now they lasted for 18 months, which is pushing me to change my original rating from 3 stars to 5 stars and I believe the strobes are slightly cheaper now.They are good VFM, the wire quality has also improved compared to what was on the pair I bought in Feb 2015.However, the circuit is still not glued and the transparent covering can still be unscrewed like a bottle, though to look on the brighter side if they get damaged keep the cover and install another LED with a circuit.Again I am going to reiterate what an important role wiring plays in making any light last. The only reason any light whether LED, strobes, DRL, Halogen etc.. would last is when the wiring has been done neatly and properly which in the long run is good for the vehicle also..
