This is, by far, the brightest light I've owned, but it does become hot to the touch within a short period of time. I really like that is has so many modes. I use the highest setting to light up a room when someone doesn't have working electricity. The lowest setting is dim enough to check a patient's pupils without nearly blinding them. Good find, and worth the money. Just don't accidentally bump the tail switch and leave it on...I burned through my first battery in my first 12hr shift with it, but that was my fault. It is as bright as the high beams on my car ( eye S##$% you not...). You will like it. Period. Also...Get the "INOVA" number "123A", 3 Volt batteries. They are disposable but with 2 in the flashlight, you get a full 6 Volts. (instead of the lesser four point whatever that the single big rechargeable delivers) The batts last a good long time too.
