It fresh scars, and I had read if you got the scars fresh, it's best to start using the gel as soon as possible. So to me I would say this is a gel cream. My partner recently had surgery so I bought her this to help with the scars. It's been amazing so far.. after just a couple of uses, the scarring has massively reduced. Some sections you'd never even know anything had happened as the skin looks natural. It's a clear gel that's easy to apply. Very happy with it and well worth the price! The scar tape is also worth getting!
