Very easy to pull the old off and snap these in. They last about 2 years before (about like the originals) starting to flake. As far as wear and tear in my case goes, I use mine about 10-12 hours a week and store them sort of straddling my pc case to keep the headphones stretched so they're more comfortable for me to wear (not the pads' fault). So it's like either I or my pc is "wearing" them 24/7, so pretty durable. I'd also say they are as comfortable as the originals.
