I replaced the pressure switch on a Mercruiser 8.1 Horizon with this switch and has been perfect for a year. Switch from Mercury was $125. **Q: the part i received had an b on it will this work i know the one with the a on it works that i bought last time** A: just in case you weren't aware, this is a third-party knock-off, not a real merc part, and my experience with this particular one is that it worked very very briefly before crapping out and sending the engine back into guardian mode. The real, seriously overpriced quicksilver version lasts for about a year in salt water. Still annoying...but at least makes it out of the marina. **Q: Is this replacement for 881879-6?** A: Form and fit, yes, function not so much. Mine didn't last until I left the harbor before sending the engine back into guardian mode.
