He had book 4 already and read it over and over and over and over. Finally got him this book 1-3 set and he was so happy to open it. He sat down in the middle of the room to immediately dive in and didnt move (except for page turning) for a solid hour or so (however long it took him to read all 3 back to back). Then he took them to his room to read them again and bookmark his favorite pages. Id say the story is a little advanced for a 6 year old (I havent read every page of every book, but nothing seems inappropriate, and I like that both boys and girls are positive main characters). The artwork and action are great and keep his interest soooo well. He has no trouble reading them on his own and he loves them. As a parent and a teacher, I am always looking for books that will engage my children and my students. I try to read all of the books before putting them onto my shelf so that I can have conversations with my students about the books. Most of my students had not heard about this series prior to me bringing them into my classroom. Now they are hooked. This is a great series for reluctant readers. I definitely recommend these books.
