Review: This is my dream sink - Let’s face it. You want a Kholer Workstation sink, but you don’t want to shell out the money for it. So you found this on desertcart and got enamored by the reviews (and the fact that it is a top-mount sink. Who trusts undermount sinks anyway?) Well, let me tell you. This is the best sink in the whole world. It isn’t a perfect sink, but you would be pressed to find anything like it in this price range. We’ve had this sink for about four months. It came nicely packaged with several accessories. That’s a great place to start, the accessories: Cutting Board: It looked really nice when we got it, but it cracked in a corner about one month in. I didn’t bother telling the seller about it because it works. I’ll likely replace it with a custom board with similar dimensions. The Rolling Rack: We have a dish rack, so we rarely use it. But it works great when we’ve made a big meal and need extra drying space. I can also see it used as a minimal rack for a kitchen. The Kholer sink probably has this sink beat in this area, because you can hide the rack in the sink. Doesn’t matter much when you’re just looking for a sink for function. The sink grates: I hate the way they look. I hate cleaning it. But it’s really nice to have the bottom of your sink look untouched. If you wash your hair in your sink, please take the grates out. Strands of hair can easily coil around the grates. The Install: We had a Plummer install this sink. They looked at it. They looked at everything that came in the box, and they installed it without asking a single question. Great. And I never worry about it falling through my kitchen cabinets because it’s a top mount sink. The kitchen sink comes with a cut-out template for your countertops. We didn’t use it and had the person installing the countertops to measure the actual sink. So I can’t comment on the accuracy of the template. If you’re wondering about cabinets, yes this sink fits in a 36-inch IKEA cabinet. That was my top concern. There were no questions or concerns about fitting when it was dropped it. Again, you need to get the largest cabinet for this sink to work. We also connected a garbage disposal to the sink. This sink has a low depth, so you may want to double check if your drainage pipes are situated correctly. And speaking of depth, this sink is a monster. Pots. Pans. A drink cooler. I could wash a whale in this sink. It’s incredible. But I personally find filling up the sink to be too much water for me, so I have a dish bucket that I fit with water. And guess what? There’s plenty of room for it. This sink makes my kitchen incredible. So far, I’m happy with the durability of the sink, and have no issues with daily use for the last few months.

**Q: I have 28.5 inches of width in my 30" cabinet. The 30 inch sink should fit tight correct? According to the tub demensions.**
A: It may fit, but it will be very tight. The rim of the sink will have to sit on top of the cabinet sidewalls. Please consult with your installer and show him the Dimension Diagram for this sink, to make sure it will work with your installation. Thanks.

**Q: How big is the basket strainer on this one?  Is deeper than the typical strainer you would put in your sink?  Asking because we don't have disposal**
A: Good question.  We immediately installed garbage disposals on the two sinks we installed in our duplex, and I'd never looked at the basket.  It is different from any I've seen.  The drain cup itself is about 3 inches deep by 3 inches wide at the top.  comes with a basket that is 2 inches deep by 2.5 inches across, is perforated all over with little holes, and includes a handle to pull it out for emptying.  Also included is a stainless steel cover with a rubber or silicone gasket to hold the water in the sink if you choose to do that.  The sink is high quality for sure.  My only quibble is that I wish it was just slightly more slanted toward the drain so the water would drain out faster and carry debris with it.

**Q: Is this sink ok for outdoor kitchens?**
A: I asked my husband and he doesn’t seem to think there should be any issue as it is stainless steel.

Let’s face it. You want a Kholer Workstation sink, but you don’t want to shell out the money for it. Yes. It's a sink. We all need one in a functional kitchen. But, as far as sinks go, this one is different and special. It arrived on schedule, in a sturdy box, encased in styrofoam. I'm not sure how any of these could be damaged in shipping. I ordered the 30" wide RVH7300. Upon unboxing, I was immediately impressed. All the accessories were individually boxed and the sink itself was inside a protective "sock" of sorts. Very, very nice. First inspection revealed an beautifully finished, extremely sturdy/rigid piece. This thing is built like a stainless steel tank. This 16ga sink is no joke. I checked out an 18ga Kohler and the thickness and quality of the Ruvati rivaled the Kohler easily. When I dropped it into my sink base, it immediately added structural rigidity. I installed (well, my stone guys did) the sink in an Ikea 30" sink base. Yes, a 30" sink in a 30" base. IT CAN AND WAS DONE!! With the sound dampening on the sides, the sink barely fit. There's probably only a 1/16" of an inch of clearance total. When they came to measure the cabinets for install of the tops, it was decided to simply allow the sink to rest on the cabinet base, measure extraordinarily carefully and then drop the top onto it, expoxying it all together. That's exactly what happened and it turned out perfect. They ran an additional silicone bead around the inside lip to further seal the sink to the tops. I'll upload pics of the fit and the finished product soon. Just a week's use so far. But, it's been everything I could have hoped for in a giant single bowl stainless sink you could wash your child/dag/whatever in. The thickness of the stainless, combined with the sound dampening material means you hear the water coming out of the faucet more than you hear it hitting the floor of the sink. The sink wipes and cleans easily and drains well. Again, I know it's just a sink, but this thing makes me happy every time I use it. I paired it with a Kraus Sellete faucet. It's a proportional and gorgeous combination. The only sink I'd consider buying should the need arise again!
