Do they sound as good as my niles rock speakers that I left at my old house when we moved (stupid move on my part), no. Do they sound really good for 1/3 the price...Yes! Aprox $750 for speakers, $320 amp, $350 Sonos =$1,500 for a kick-ass loud as hell outdoor system. I’ll take it. **Q: 10 inch, not 8 inch, correct??**
A: The TFS14 speaker has a 10" woofer, 5.5" mid-ranger driver, and a 2" tweeter. It's probably the best outdoor rock speaker that money can buy on market!

**Q: Is this for a pair of speakers or just one?**
A: I'm going to say these are sold as single speakers because I looked up my receipt from July 2012 and I see two separate emails from Amazon on the same day at the same time so it seems I had to order two for me to get a pair. I checked my order history and it also shows I ordered two. They still sound great. I also have two TFS10s and they sound even better but they're bigger (but I think have the same size speaker inside).

**Q: are these wireless and have a transmitter**
A: no, they are wired.  I have them around my pool in the flower beds using outdoor speaker wire.  They work great!  Have had them now for 5 years with no problems.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Fills low end into outside pool area.

This is not a powered subwoofer, so you'll need to run the both Left and Right speaker wires from your amp to this subwoofer, then from this subwoofer to your left and right speaker wires. Depending upon the location of your amp and L/R speakers this might be easy or not. For me, it was pretty easy, based upon location. The benefit is that it's pretty easy to run speaker wire and this unpowered subwoofer does not need to be placed near a power outlet, which can be difficult to locate outside. It's not a pounding, forceful bass. However, it definitely improved the sound our two outdoor speakers (Yamaha). Before adding this subwoofer, which is powered by a Sonos 100 amp, the Yamaha's sounded ok, but as if the treble had been turned up. This is probably more due to their outside placement and the concrete patio and other very hard / reflective surfaces than the speakers, which sounded fuller when I tested them inside. Adding this subwoofer really improved our patio tunes. The rock appearance lets you stick in in corners or all sorts of locations where people just don't pay attention to it.
