Review: Very surprised! - I got the 12’ MH and I am very pleasantly surprised by this rod! First, it isn’t a MH I would say closer to a Medium power. Rod is super light, pretty thin and moderate action tip. Just landed a 30-40lb sting ray (not what I was fishing for) and it did a nice job for me. I am comparing this to my $400 St Croix’s and for s $100 this is super nice!! Fantastic pompano rod, sends 3oz sailing a long long way!

The largest fish I've caught was a stingray about 33 inches across. This purchase is my third 1202mh. It remains to be seen if it will handle a bull redfish, maybe this year. I love that a small whiting will bounce the rod tip, unlike my Big Water Ugly Stik, which is too heavy for a 6" whiting to be noticed. It does need to be shipped in a styrofoam-lined box. Okuma must feel the returns and hits on their reputation are not worth the cost of building a styrofoam-lined box. All 3 of my rods arrived undamaged.

A: Yes, MH stands for medium heavy. It rates the power of the rod. It's probably a FAST "Action". Meaning ...just the upper third of the rod will bend. Not the Action if your casting all day. more of a live bait rod. Casting lures all day, you must go MODERATE......MODERATE/FAST Action. Hope this helps you make the right selection tailored to you.

**Q: Can i put a bait casting reel on this rod?**
A: Guys in Hawaii dunk with this rod all the time.

**Q: Is there a warranty on this rod?**
A: Yes there is a 1 year warranty. I broke the rod tip then contacted Okuma and they sent me a brand new top half of the rod with no charge.

**Q: Is this rod best suited for 1oz, 1.5oz, or 2oz+ weighted lures?**
A: 1 to 1.5 works best for me
