Of course I also use small crystal litter which doesn't stick to the plastic as bad as clumping would (if you do this, you'll want to add a strip of duckt tape along the front edge of the part that faces downward when you raise the handle--that is designed to allow some litter to drop down into the bottom tray to help with odor control, but with fine grains, you loose A LOT of litter unless you tape it).
