The majority of the units hum at low speed at medium speed the hum gets cancelled from the air flow. The sound is like a bad ballast. If you slept above it you would go crazy from the sound at a low/med speed. If this could be fixed it would be a great product if not for the bearing issue others have posted. I think the rheostat and the motor are not matched properly. Something is not right. I'm on my 5th unit I ordered directly from the vendor. Also the outer flange as shown on ebay is different. Ebay shows a doubled flange as well as Ventech's site. The owner says Amazon flips the fan around and shows a single flange. I spoke with the owner and he says the latest model is the single flange on each side. Then why does the site show the double flange with what I was told was the new bracket for which I am now told by the vendor is actually the older model. I am now told the new bracket is blue which b4 when talking to one of the employees there was the older bracket. Half my hair is gone, from pulling it out and I still hear the hum... I think I need a vacation. ### ⭐⭐⭐ Thank goodness for warranty's *by K***N on Reviewed in the United States on January 7, 2016* Fan died just after 6 months of receipt...It was used for a few months then it started rattling, and the bearings were shot. Fortunately there was a one year warranty for a replacement, and I hope this was just a fluke. Customer service was very useful in explaining the fan to me, why it might have gone so early.
