The previous epoxy that I used had a 1:1 mix ratio with the yellowish-colored hardener, which started leaving a lingering odor and the epoxy gained a yellowish color with time. This may have been due to inadequate curing - but it was thoroughly mixed at the right ratios, and wasn't exposed to UV light (which can cause yellowing if the epoxy isn't UV resistant).
