The fittings provided are for suspended ceilings, they are good, but not for a normal domestic room height. This was easily modified by replacing the unit brackets with simple aluminium L section with suitably drilled holes, new brackets then used to suspend unit close to ceiling using simple wood batons, the unit's face now being within 40mm of the ceiling. Unit produces even light at approximately the stated colour temperature, illumination is near instant and the consumption very low. You may wish to consider a less bright (therefore smaller) unit if positioning directly above a kitchen dining table - otherwise it may be too bright.
