Replaced older version same brand 888 that eventually wore out. Installed in 20 min no problem. Did have a time with getting it setup via Vivint alarm system. In the future, Suggest before installing the back part of lock to get the ZWave connection recognized by the Vivint keypad first. After some of the issues with the setup and what I learned from this install, this is what I would do next time for a VIVINT system. Call Vivint and get tech help to get into the Installer Toolbox screen - this is where you add or remove ZWave devices. Remove the old lock from the system first. Then take the back half of the new lock with the battery pack inserted up next to the Vivint keypad and add the new lock. I had to reboot my keypad after removing the original lock before it would recognize and add the new lock. Or is it just when the code is used?** A: I have SmartThings and the answer depends on how in depth you want to get. At the basic level you can have the SmartThings security app notify you if the door locks or unlocks. There is also the Smart Locks app that you can get from the marketplace that adds some additional configurations (like setting up one time access codes and what not). In addition, you can also create or download custom apps that give you even more flexibility. For example, my kids have their own access codes to the door, I get a text message that says, "Kids Home" if they unlock the door, a different message if someone uses a key or sends a remote unlock command (via an app), and an alert message if someone enters a panic code on the door (eg 9111). You can also create apps that do different things depending on the doors status. For example, my house alarm automatically disarms if someone puts in a valid code, but automatically triggers if someone enters the panic code. **Q: I've installed the Lock and it is working well.
