**Q: What does renewed mean?**
A: The unit I received was renewed.  In this specific case, it did not come directly from the factory.  The seller of my unit made sure that my chair was in full working order. It also had very little cosmetic damage and 2 operational flaws that are a mere nuisance but do not affect the overall performance of this chair. To your unspoken question, "Should I buy it?", I'd say yes, mine is 97% of factory new and works as intended.
