It has a unique texture - VERY buttery - this is exactly what I imagine it would feel like if you actually softened real butter and applied that on your lips! Rather than a liquid gloss w/ a doe-foot applicator, this is technically a solid in a roll-up tube like lipstick, but it's not nearly as firm as traditional lipsticks - I actually have to be a little cautious when applying or extending the tube because if you press too hard, it will squish out of place a little. Of course, because it's so smooth, silky-soft & buttery, it's also very hydrating and feels luxurious on the lips (and big perk - it's NOT at all sticky!). I don't know that it's particularly long-lasting - it holds up pretty well to basic wear for a couple hours, but if you eat or drink much, it will disappear.
